Upcoming July Activities!

Wednesday, July 8 – Family Log Roll, Lake Minnetonka Regional Park, 1–2:30 p.m. Rooted in Midwest history, log rolling is both safe and fun! Improve balance, agility, concentration and core strength. Reservations required. Twenty percent discount for groups of four or more. 

Saturday, July 11 – Befriending Bumble Bees, Eastman Nature Center, 1–3 p.m. Join a University of Minnesota entomologist to learn bumble bee biology, identification, and conservation. Hike to the prairie to capture, identify, survey, mark, and release bumble bees. Reservations required. 

Tuesday, July 14 – Stand-up Paddleboard Lesson for Women, Fish Lake Regional Park, 7 – 9 p.m. Try the fast growing sport of stand-up paddleboarding, an exciting way to explore the water that offers a full body workout. Equipment provided. Reservations required. 

Saturday, July 18 – Family Rafting on the River, Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park, 9 a.m.–noon. Float down the Mississippi River and explore a deserted island. Discover minnows, mussels and more. Participants paddle and do some lifting while guided by experienced naturalists. No experience necessary. Safety equipment and shuttle provided. Reservations required.

Saturday, July 18 – Animals in the Amphitheater, Hyland Lake Park Reserve, 10 – 11 a.m. See live reptiles and amphibians visiting from Richardson Nature Center. Learn about these critters slithering, swimming, hopping, crawling, and burrowing around Hyland Park. Drop in anytime. 

Saturday, July 25 – Parent/Daughter Pitch ‘n’ Putt Golf Event, Eagle Lake Youth Golf Center, 1 – 3 p.m. Dress crazy in neon colors! Ice cream sundaes after the event. Open to girls currently enrolled in Three Rivers leagues and lessons. 

Thursday, July 23 – Garden Party, Noerenberg Gardens, 6 – 8 p.m. Celebrate Summer with an evening in the garden. Stroll on your own or with a tour guide. Music provided by harpist Andrea Stern. Activities for children, historical displays and door prizes make this a special evening. 

Saturday, July 25 – Make Your Own Pickles, Gale Woods Farm, 1 – 4 p.m. Go beyond pickled cucumbers and discover tasty recipes for a variety of pickling fun: beans, zucchini and more! Learn recipes for your favorite garden vegetables. Reservations required.
