Upcoming Activities!

Friday, May 22 – Garlic Mustard Pull and Harvest, Hyland Lake Park Reserve, 9 a.m.–noon. Help preserve forests and woodlands by harvesting invasive garlic mustard. Then, take some of your harvest home, and use it as a herb in cooking, just like many European and Asian cultures have done for centuries! Registration required.

Saturday, May 23 – Build and Bake Bread Oven, Gale Woods Farm, 9 a.m.–4 p.m. Discover how to build a portable stack-brick oven and then fire it up! Learn how to make dough for flatbreads, pizza, and bread and then bake and eat them. Reservations required.

Saturday, May 30 – Stand-up Paddleboard Lesson, Bryant Lake Regional Park, 1–3 p.m. Try the fast growing sport of stand-up paddleboarding, an exciting way to explore the water that offers a full body workout! Equipment provided. Reservations required.

Sunday, May 31 – Adaptive Recreation Demo Day, French Regional Park, 1–4 p.m. Try adaptive mountain bikes, kayaks, archery equipment and geocaching. Socialize and make s’mores by the campfire. Reservations required.

Sunday, May 31 – Free Family Fun Day: Pond Exploration, Richardson Nature Center, 3 – 4 p.m. Drop in anytime! Explore a different topic each week through hands-on activities that everyone can enjoy at their own pace.

Saturday, June 6 – Bike Donation Day, Baker Park Reserve, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Donate your used bike to a good home. SPOKES is a Minneapolis biking and walking community resource with a mission of growing a more informed and diverse population of bicyclists and pedestrians.

Saturday, June 13 – Minnesota PlayCleanGo Day, several locations, 11 a.m.–3 p.m. Learn about the many trails, parks and recreation sites in Three Rivers, and how to help stop the spread of land-based invasive species. Join a guided tour and participate in scavenger hunts and geocaching (varies by site). Reservations recommended. 

Wednesday, June 17 – Explore Volunteering, French Regional Park, 5:30–8:30 p.m. Three Rivers welcomes community members to share their talents, passion and energy to help carry out our mission. Meet staff and volunteers while exploring the many ways to give back at your favorite park. Drop in anytime.
