Parks on the Go Outreach

Our mobile Parks on the Go van has greatly increased our ability to bring outdoor education and recreation programs to underserved residents throughout Three Rivers’ service area. Thanks to a generous donation from Three Rivers Park District Foundation, we have been using our outreach van to reach thousands and thousands of residents in the many communities we serve. As only a few examples in just the past couple of weeks:

We visited eight different mobile recreation sites in Brooklyn Park, specifically targeting areas where permanent recreation facilities and programs are not offered.

Three Rivers was at the New Hope Farmers Market fielding general questions about our parks and trails from market attendees on a recent weekend.

At an Earle Brown Elementary School Open House event in Brooklyn Center, we connected with nearly 350 people in a two-hour span, and the vast majority of our conversations were with people who were otherwise unfamiliar with Three Rivers parks and trails.

We are participating in several Community Emergency Assistance Program (CEAP) events, such as one hosted at the Northwest Family Service Center in Brooklyn Center, where services are provided for low-income families in the community.
