Take part in our equestrian trail planning!

stelprdb5277540.jpgThree Rivers has developed a community engagement process with the equestrian community to find out how we can serve them better. Our outreach process is designed to gather input from the public, including both horse trail users and other park users, on the topics of horse trail development, improvements, operations and priorities. See our Equestrian Trail Forums poster

This information will be used to help plan possible improvements, expansions and operational modifications to our equestrian trails in Baker, Carver, Crow-Hassan, Elm Creek, Lake Rebecca and Murphy-Hanrehan Park Reserves. Be sure to mark your calendars for our two scheduled open houses and public forums beginning next week - the details are below. If you can't make these meetings, there are also other opportunities to let us know how we can serve you better!

Both open houses and public forums will begin at 5:30 pm, and last until 7:30 pm. They will be held on Wednesday, September 11 at the Spring Lake Town Hall, 20381 Fairlawn Avenue, Prior Lake and also on Monday, September 16 at the Elm Creek Chalet, 12400 James Deane Parkway, Maple Grove.

The first hour will be an open house where Three Rivers will provide large maps of each park with horse trails, and invite the public to talk with staff about the trails to identify any problem areas. The second hour will be a public forum, including an overview of past horse trail research and sustainable trail education. Participants will be invited to provide comments about horse trails, focusing on what makes trail visits safe, challenging and enjoyable. Comment cards will also be available for written input at the forums.

If you are unable to attend the public forums, please feel free to submit written comments to:
