Sample of Recent Trail Projects

shady_oak.jpgHere’s a few pictures of a small selection of recent Three Rivers CR_19.jpgprojects this construction season, including a couple of Lake Minnetonka Regional Trail safety improvements, like realigning the intersection at Shady Oak Road in Minnetonka so riders can cross at the light, and installing a rider-activated signal, safety island and traffic lanes at the CR 19 intersection in Shorewood.

crystal_lake.jpgNew trail projects were also completed, ranging from a picturesque Nok-MR.jpgboardwalk on our Crystal Lake Regional Trail in Robbinsdale to our major new north-south Nokomis-Minnesota River Regional Trail, which links trails and destinations in Bloomington and Richfield with the Minneapolis’ Grand Rounds. Check out this Three Rivers themed bridge over I-494.

playarea.jpgConsiderable progress was also made on the eastern segment of our new Nine Mile Creeknine_mile.jpg Regional Trail, including this beautiful boardwalk, which provides a small sample of what’s to come. Many other projects, both large and small, were also completed and initiated, including one of my personal favorites – a popular ZipKrooz at Elm Creek Regional Park Reserve.
