Protection for our vulnerable guests

protect-and-locate-pal-watch-5.gifThree Rivers is now offering a new service to protect our vulnerable guests. Protect and Locate (PAL) transmitters are designed to be worn by our park guests who suffer from cognitive disabilities, such as autism or Alzheimer’s. PAL units consist of a watch-like GPS transmitter and a receiving base unit that is given to the family caregiver for monitoring. If a family member wearing the PAL bracelet wanders too far away from the base unit, an audible alarm signals the need for an immediate search, and a map is displayed on the base unit to pinpoint the exact location of the transmitter being worn by the wanderer. Three Rivers Park District is the first and only park system in the country making these units available to their guests as a service.
